Why free

Because somebody decided to donate it.

HDHICT is built and run by a student team in Wichita. We started it because the analysis that keeps a restaurant group profitable has existed for forty years, and the only thing standing between a single-site owner and that same analysis is the price of somebody to run it.

We are not selling you anything. The analysis system underneath is donated by littleconsult.com, and hosting and domain costs are donated by sigmaclava.com. Neither takes anything from the businesses we serve. That is the whole funding model, stated plainly.

It is also why we read applications rather than opening the doors to everyone. A volunteer team has a real limit on how many businesses it can look after properly, and we would rather help fewer people well than more people badly.

Pricing questions

Is anything held back?

No. There is no row cap, no device limit and no locked tier. Every tool described on this site is in the free product.

Will this start costing money later?

Not for the businesses in the programme. It is funded by donated systems and donated hosting, not by a runway that needs revenue. If that ever changed we would tell you long before it did.

Why do I have to apply?

Because a student team can only support so many businesses at once, and we would rather be honest about that than let people sign up and get nothing. We prioritise independent businesses in and around Wichita.

What if my account is closed?

Your books stay fully readable and exportable on your device. We do not hold your own records hostage. You would only lose the ability to record new entries.

Can I get my data out?

Any time, as CSV or a full JSON backup. It is your ledger; we are not holding it hostage.

Is there a catch?

No advertising, no reselling your data, and no upsell waiting at the end. The people paying for this are the two sponsors named above, and what they get out of it is a programme that helps their own community.
